SONAR User Produces Album Featuring Blink 182 Papa Roach, Others

Veteran Cakewalk user Vernon Neilly was recently called upon by Seymour Duncan to produce a compilation CD featuring a number of their artist endorsees. The Boosweet Seymour Duncan Compilation features tracks by Blink 182, Alien Ant Farm, 311, Papa Roach, Slash's Snake Pit, Gary Hoey, Jennifer Batten, and Seymour Duncan himself amongst many others. Vernon did all of the tracking, editing, and mixing for the album in SONAR. "SONAR is a great program that really saves me time," commented Vernon. "The new interface and mixing improvements made the work go so much faster and allowed me to focus on what's really important as a producer, the creative aspect." "I love the new loop construction view. It gives me so much flexibility with the grooves I create and having that technology integrated in one program saves me the trouble of bouncing between applications."

Vernon Neilly has seen the ins and outs of the music industry for thirty years. He began his professional career at the age of fourteen, and quickly progressed to doing major tour work and recordings with some of the most notable artists in the R&B world, including Carla Thomas;legendary blues artist and writer Charles Brown; blues guitarists Peewee Crayton and Guitar Shorty; Luther Ingram; two-time Grammy Nominee, Charles Wright; Fred Wesley; Tina Marie; Cuba Gooding; Allie Woodson of The Temptations; Johnny Guitar Watson; and many others. Most recently Vernon lent his guitar skills to Def Jam recording artist Warren G for his latest project. 

Under the direction of famed Motown hit-maker, Norman Whitfield, Vernon was able to learn and perfect his production skills. At this point other record companies began to seek his production expertise as well. Spending seven years as the President of Chereese Records, Vernon learned every aspect of the record business. He now acts as a consultant to Independent record companies who need to get their product into the marketplace, and recently formed his own company, Boosweet Records.

Even while running an active independent label, and keeping up a busy schedule as a producer, Neilly continues to perform and record as a solo artist. He can be frequently found in the #1 position on the MP3.com charts and was recently featured on BET.com.
