    Beat Fetish –Martin Atkins on 25 years of Industrial & Post Punk Recording

    Produced by Martin Atkins, Beat Fetish is the culmination of over 25 years of recording and includes some of the best material, cherry picked from sessions with Pigface, The Damage Manual, Killing Joke, Nine Inch Nails and other artists. Atkins will be playing examples from the collection and discussing his sound design and production techniques used, along with anecdotes from the sessions. In addition Martin will also be discussing his new book Tour:Smart, the definitive book on touring and breaking the band. Martin is one of the most entertaining speakers in the industry and this talk is not to be missed.



    How the SONAR REAC Solution will revolutionize Live Recording

    Cakewalk and Roland announced a recording system at IBC earlier this year for Roland’s REAC technology and V-Mixing system that will allow the recording of 40 channels of 24-bit audio over a single Ethernet cable. In addition, this technology will work at distances up to 2 km with only 1 ms of latency. Tune in to learn more about the complete REAC solution and SONAR-based recording system and how it will revolutionize live recording.



    Moog Matters – Introducing Craig Anderton’s Minimoog Expansion Pack for Rapture

Craig will talk about his relationship with Bob Moog, the importance of the instrument, and the painstaking process he used to creating this Expansion Pack for Rapture. He will also discuss how you can use these sounds as a springboard for new sonic creations through Rapture’s advanced synthesis capabilities.

    The METAlliance is a coalition of globally recognized, award-winning audio engineers and producers founded in 2005 who are working together with audio manufacturers to ensure the highest standards of audio production and delivery through developing consumer formats. Cakewalk is joining the METAlliance as Pro Partner in 2008, and founding members Frank Filipetti, George Massenburg, Phil Ramone, and Elliot Scheiner will be giving a talk about META’s mission and its significance to the Pro Audio community.

In this talk Tim Swartz the original sound designer for the Proteus and creator of the new Proteus packs will talk about the recording sessions, programming, and product background for the Proteus sounds. He will also give some examples of the top presets used in film and TV.

    SONAR user, DJ Johnny Juice is a legendary DJ/Producer and EMMY nominated Composer, whose work, especially with the first two Public Enemy albums as a member of the Bomb Squad, has been embedded into Hip-Hop history. In addition to Public Enemy his scratch and production work has graced recordings by the Beastie Boys, KRS-One, Slick Rick, Darryl "DMC" McDaniels, Rob Swift, Dan the Automator, Ashanti, Vanessa Williams, Martin Scorsese's "The Blues" Documentary series, and ESPN's "ALI RAP" Juice’s talks are as funny as they are informative, and always packed.

    If you’re a SONAR 7 user here’s your chance to have your music broadcast from NAMM, and heard and critiqued by a panel consisting of leading Producers, Engineers, and Arrangers. We will be selecting SONAR projects from at least 10 Cakewalk customers, playing them at the show, then allowing our panelists to talk about what they liked and to give constructive criticism on how to improve your work.

    On the Panel: Elliot Scheiner (5-time Grammy, Emmy, and TEC award winning producer/engineer), Terry Howard (3-time Grammy-winning producer/engineer for Ray Charles), Benjamin Wright (Arranger: Michael Jackson, OutKast, Jamiroquai, Justin Timberlake), Rory Kaplan (Executive Producer over 180 titles including for Queen & Sheryl Crow, keyboardist for Michael Jackson),
