IdeaPad Y530
Welcome to Lenovo’s media brain child! The ideapad Y530 is great for
artists creating on the go. This laptop serves as a solid platform for the beginner or traveling
pro. It’s engineered as a great tool for media with audio streaming capabilities and video performance to match. The
IdeaPad
is currently taking daily beatings by our Tech Support department and has
successfully run everything from the latest versions of SONAR to Music Creator.
Our Y530 shipped with the 32 bit version of Windows Vista, an Intel Core 2
Duo (2 GHz) with 2 GB DDR2 SDRAM. There’s a built in
expansion slot if needed, 3 USB 2.0, a mini FireWire, and a multiformat memory
card reader.
The glossy finish is
great for visual clarity; the one down side is the surface is highly
reflective so when working outside in the sun you tend to see more of your
reflection than your tracks.
Reccomendations for DAW use:
- If you would like to use a FireWire based audio interface, make use of the
expansion slot and add a Texas Instruments based FireWire chip.
- Try to avoid having too many applications running while using your DAW;
performance is better when your DAW gets full attention.
