Create with SONAR 7—Customizable Workspace

Every SONAR user has his or her own way of working. Maybe you’re an audio engineer who rarely works with MIDI. Maybe you’re a film composer who takes advantage of SONAR’s scoring and video thumbnail track. Or perhaps you’re a songwriter or producer who uses nearly every feature.

SONAR provides easy to use tools for customizing your workspace. Put the controls you need right where you need them. Hide controls you rarely use to make room on your screen. You can even adjust the application’s colors to match your own taste.

Toolbars

Show the tools you need, hide the ones you don’t. Create custom toolbars with all the features you need immediate access to.

Configurable Track View Controls

Make the best use of your workspace by re-organizing or hiding Track View controls. You can call up different control configurations by simply clicking on customizable tabs.

Track Inspector

A new, configurable Track Inspector gives you detailed information and control of any selected track from the track view.

Time Rulers

SONAR has always given you options to display time rulers with different setting, now you can display multiple time rulers simultaneously. Options include Measure:Beat:Tick, Hours:Minutes:Seconds:Frames, Samples, Milliseconds.

Port Naming

Change the names of your audio and MIDI inputs and outputs for easy organization.

Menu Layouts

You can customize all of SONAR's menus. Hide items you never use. Rename menu items. Create different layouts to compliment your workflow.

Plug-in Organization

Organize your plug-in menu to make finding the right plug-ins easier. Group them by user-defined type (Compressors, Reverbs, Delays, etc.) or by style (Vintage, Digital, Abstract, etc.). Enhanced and fully integrated Plug-in Manager lets you create, edit, and save custom menu layout files. Choose a different layout at any time on the fly.

Colors

SONAR features user-customizable color schemes that let you adjust virtually every aspect of the interface. Hue, saturation, and brightness controls make it easy to create your own look. Elements of SONAR's interface are now grouped in the colors menu to give you easy access to related features.
