    Stereo plug-ins
Aux and Main Busses are mono in, stereo out, and Track Inserts are mono in, mono out. Mono effects, such as the CFX plug-ins included with Cakewalk, cannot be placed in the Aux or Main Bus, only in the Track Inserts. Some stereo plug-ins, such as Waves TrueVerb, will only work in the Aux or Main Bus or as off-line edit commands, and not in Track Inserts.

    "Pins not attached" Error
You will receive this error if you attempt to place an effect in an Aux or Main Bus before setting the Source of a track to the Left or Right input of your audio card.

Important note for Cakewalk Demo users
If you are using a Demo version of Cakewalk, there are limitations on how plug-ins work in real time. You must have the plug-in's window open for audio to be processed through the effect. There is also a five-second time limit, after which the audio will play back with no processing.

The retail version of Cakewalk has no time limits, and lets you run effects in real time with all plug-in windows closed. To order Cakewalk Home Studio or Pro Audio, and other products, visit the Cakewalk Store section of our website.
