Dropout and/or SONAR stops responding when Surround FX Chain inserted on Stereo Bus

The information in this article applies to:
  • SONAR X1 Producer
  • SONAR X1 Studio
If you are working in the Track Pane or Bus Pane and you drag a Surround FX Chain to a Stereo Bus, SONAR may stop responding or you may get a dropout message and you will not be able to play your project.

There is no method for converting Surround FX Chains to Stereo FX Chains automatically in SONAR. The SONAR X1b update resolves the crash if you attempt to do this, however the X1b update does not convert these FX Chains automatically for you.

To resolve, make sure you have installed the SONAR X1b update. If you run in to this problem again, simply right-click on the FX Chain on your Stereo Bus and select "Extract FX Chain Plug-ins". Afterwards, if you wish to group the plug-ins again, you can right-click in the FX bin again and select "Convert Bin to FX Chain".
