Cakewalk will be appearing at Winter NAMM, January 14-17th, 2010. Join us in our new larger booth location (#6700) to get the latest product news and to check out the latest demos on SONAR 8.5, the V-Studio 100, and the V-Studio 700. In addition to product demonstrations by Cakewalk Technical Service Representatives, there will be representatives from Intel corporation in our booth to demonstrate their latest technical innovations and how they will benefit your music productions. Cakewalk also will have a series of special artist presentations and performances.

Alpha Rev

Hollywood Records recording artist Alpha Rev is being classified by early tastemakers as one of the most refreshing artists on the United States music scene in years. Described as a mixture of "Beethoven and Buckley with British sensibility and American rock," their sound is like picking all of the good parts off of your favorite groundbreaking CDs and blending them to create something "real"; a realness that absolutely translates on the recordings as well as in the live arena.
Casey McPherson is the lead singer and mastermind behind the project who will be performing and talking about his success with the V-Studio 100 as a modern creative musician. From the hotel room, to the studio to the stage, Casey represents the face of the new generation of artists who are using Cakewalk's creative solutions to build a clear path to the future.

The Red Jumpsuit Apparatus

"Certified Gold" Major Label artists are few and far between these days. Couple that notion with a credible rock band that calls their own shots and you've narrowed the field to The Red Jumpsuit Apparatus. With an independent sensibility and work ethic, this Virgin Records recording artist took over various Billboard Charts with their powerful single "Face Down."
In a conversational atmosphere followed by an acoustic performance, "RJA" will be discussing the importance of production and pre production while utilizing modern tools such as the V-Studio 100. The Red Jumpsuit Apparatus will be releasing acoustic recordings in 2010 recorded on the Cakewalk V-Studio 100.

Shifty and the Big Shots
- New Time - Saturday 5PM
SONAR user Shifty Shellshock (formerly of Crazytown) is currently on target for an epic 2010 release with his new group Shifty and the Big Shots. With over 1.5 million records sold worldwide, he and his producers choose Cakewalk's unprecedented creative tools to deliver unparalleled sonic precision.
In this special session, Shifty along with his highly profiled creative team (Jay Gordon— Orgy, DJ Rick One, TC aka "Spitfire", and Dez) will be discussing the creative process of their new record followed by a unique in-booth performance.

Javier Colon - Thursday 4PM, Saturday 4PM
Capitol Records recording artist Javier Colon has a stunningly soulful voice, uncanny writing ability, and a commanding stage presence. Javier is currently on a 75+ date world tour using the V-Studio 100, playing colleges and opening for the likes of Joss Stone and Anthony Hamilton. Watch for his new album release in the fall of 2010.
In this session Javier will discuss how he uses the solidly built VS-100 on the road to perform a number of important tasks; from capturing inspiration directly to the SD recorder to performing workhorse duty as a high quality audio interface and flexible backing track player. Javier will detail how the VS-100 provides essential tools for creating and performing music, particularly for a musician on the go. Best of all; see it in action with a special live performance from Javier - trusty VS-100 at his side.

Cori Yarckin
- Friday 1PM, Saturday 3PM
Cori Yarckin represents the next generation of DIY musicians. Rolling Stone Magazine named her one of their 'Top 5 Up and Coming Female Artists' and it's no surprise with 7 million + plays on Myspace, songs on MTV's The Hills, touring the US opening for acts like 30 Seconds to Mars & The Jonas Brothers, appearances The Today Show & MTV's TRL, and a hit album in Japan. In this session Cori will be discussing ways in which she uses a number of Cakewalk products. Topics will include using the VS-100 on the road and vocal production with the VX-64 Vocal Strip. In addition to a performance from Cori, we'll also be using SONAR 8.5's Matrix View to do some live remixing.

Justin Lassen - Thursday 2PM, Friday 5PM
SONAR user Justin Lassen is a well respected multi-instrumentalist, composer, remixer and producer. Justin has produced remixes for artists like Madonna, Garbage, Blue Man Group, Lenny Kravitz, The Killers, Lady GaGa, Nine Inch Nails, Linkin Park, Evanescence, Apocalyptica, as well as numerous projects for the film and video game industries.
In this special session, Justin will be going over some of his latest tracks, dissecting the SONAR projects themselves. He'll highlight features in SONAR 8.5 that speed the creative process and aid in crafting his own particular sound.

Norman Matthew - Friday 4PM, Saturday 11AM
Norman Matthew of MURDER FM & NEVER 3NOUGH joins Cakewalk fresh off tour opening for Korn, The Used, & Dope. Norman uses SONAR in his home studio to work with platinum producer Beau Hill (Ratt, Warrant, Alice Cooper), for re-mixes of I AM GHOST, movie soundtracks (Finale and Borderlords 2), and the recording of MURDER FM's Anthems For The Used.
As a longtime SONAR user, Norman is a cornucopia of knowledge when it comes to modern rock production, employing the tools that SONAR provides. We'll look deep into SONAR projects themselves discussing things like guitar and vocal production, as well as the composition and recording process. Norman will also be performing live in SONAR and be available for Q&A.

Steven Slate
- Friday 11AM, Saturday 12PM
Steven Slate is a producer, mixer, mastering engineer, and musician based in Los Angeles known for providing one of the finest sounding drum sample library available in the world. Having crafted some of the stellar new kits in SONAR 8.5's Session Drummer 3, there's no one better to discuss drum production in SONAR. Steven will talk about using SD3 with the new PX-64 Percussion Strip and will then build upon those tracks using SONAR's plethora of composition and mixing functions. Steven will also demonstrate his new, up-and-coming drum kit expansions for SD3, offering some insight into the creation process.
