Audio Effects Menu Lists Several Types of Plug-ins and Sub-menus

The information in this article applies to:

• Cakewalk Kinetic

The audio effects menu is populated with effects that have been installed by Microsoft and other applications (such as video software, other audio software, etc), in addition to Kinetic. These effects are typically available for use in other DirectX-supporting host applications, such as Project5, SONAR or Home Studio.

Several other effects may be listed, such as "Echo," "Flanger" and "Gargle" etc. These DMOs (DirectX Media Objects) are installed by Microsoft and freely available for use in host applications that support DMOs.

Some effects may not work in Kinetic, as they may be intended for exclusive use by the application which installed them.
