Comping and take management has undergone a massive overhaul for this release with many workflow improvements, optimizations and bug fixes. A few highlights:Take lanes are now equally suited for both assembling clips and comping. Freely assemble clips in Take lanes either by recording or dragging and dropping from different sources. If you are not creating a comp track, but simply assembling clips in Take lanes, you might find that the Smart tool’s comping behavior produce unintended results in certain situations, such as inadvertently isolating clips in when clicking the bottom half of clips. You can configure the Smart tool to disable comping features while editing clips in Take lanes and re-enable it when you are ready to start building a comp track. For details, see To customize the Smart tool.
Note: The Delete Muted Takes composite clip context menu command has been renamed to Delete Muted Clips to better reflect its function. The command does not delete muted Take lanes, but rather deletes muted clips in the current track that span the composite clip duration.
